Heather Johnston founded Sapphire Law Group to bring high-quality legal services traditionally found in large city law firms to the suburbs and mountains where she grew up by pairing her legal acumen with her passion for technology. Heather delivers legal services to families and businesses in a way that is personal, creative, convenient and exceptionally efficient.  Heather’s intelligence, attention to detail and education has been dedicated to serving clients in complex real estate transactions for over a decade.  She has been an integral part of completing some of the largest transactions in the greater Sacramento area, representing lenders, regional developers, investors, business owners and families.  Heather has had the opportunity to work with some of the region’s most respected individuals and businesses on real estate purchase and sale transactions, leases and financing.  In addition, Heather has represented clients in connection with the distribution of complex trust assets, resolution of disputes over trust assets and title issues created the improper administration of trust property.

Among other career achievements, Heather was selected as one of only 10 attorneys in the country to serve as a 2015-2017 Fellow for the Real Property Trust and Estates Section of the American Bar Association.  This year she continues her work for the Section as Chair of the Title Insurance and Survey Committee and Vice-Chair of the Law Practice Management Group.

In addition to numerous speaking engagements, including as a panelist for state and national seminars for the American Bar Association and California Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB), she authored an article published in the California Real Property Journal titled Title Quandaries Created by Foreclosures During the Great Recession and served as a consultant for the parties, interest and premises chapter of the book, Ground Lease Practice published by the California Continuing Education of the Bar in 2009.
